KINDERGARTEN

Southwestern Kindergarten is a well-established program that has been in existence for more than fifty years.  It follows a school board approved curriculum, developed especially to best meet the needs and abilities of the students in this district.  This curriculum fulfills the requirements of the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.  It not only prepares the students for future grades, but introduces them to many “life skills” as well.

Most teaching at Southwestern Kindergarten is done using thematic units around which many activities are centered.  A thematic unit is a study around a central topic which incorporates art projects, songs, games, stories, gross motor activities and academic work including language arts, math, science, social studies, health and whenever possible, computer skills.
