Technology Education
Technology education, or Tech. Ed., is a field of study that teaches students how to use technology and how to apply scientific and mathematical principles to solve real-world problems. It's a hands-on, project-based approach that helps students develop technological literacy and skills that can prepare them for college and careers.
In Tech. Ed., students learn about:
- The processes and knowledge related to technology
- How to manipulate materials and tools to change the physical world
- How to design, develop, and use technological systems
- How to evaluate the impact of modifying a system
- How to work individually and in a team to solve problems
Tech. Ed. can include a variety of activities, such as:
- Experimenting with project learning
- Performing open-ended, problem-based design activities
- Learning cognitive, manipulative, and affective learning strategies
